I made several recordings using an app on my computer and then also from a recording device from Audacity but was unable to figure out what to do. I think that audioboo will be my "go to" recording device now for several reasons, one being that it's the only one I have figured out how to embed and the other because I like the ability to embed a picture along with my recording.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[{"id":"74385928","body":"Janet, I loved meeting Tahti the cat. I hope she was able to go to Turkey with you and adjusts to her new life there with you. As for embedding other sound recordings, for files you create on your computer, as long as they are not too large, you can actually upload the whole file to the wiki. Here's how (and feel free to use our Audio Play sandbox page to try it out! That's the whole point of a sandbox:)
\n>Go to the Audio Play page
\n>Click EDIT
\n>Place your cursor on the page where you would like the file to appear (this works for video, audio and images!)
\n>Select the FILE icon (looks like a mountain scene with a sun)
\n>Click UPLOAD files
\n>Click on the file name in the upload window and it should insert on your page
\n
\n*There are several reasons to use a tool like Audioboo, rather than uploading a file directly: 1. Allows you to create a play list;2. Allows you to syndicate; 3. Allows you larger files sizes (This is true for videos too!)

\nHere is a link to the Wikispaces HELP menu that will show you all about working with files within the wiki. I think this interface is absolutely amazing for collaborative learning, working on projects and giving students agency. Unfortunately we had to take Tahti to Newark to live with my sister. She was too old (14) for us to consider taking her so far. She's a sweet kitty and my sister is just the right person to take care of her while we are gone. Istanbul is extremely hot!!! but we are really enjoying our first days here. I have been taking to the Director of Education and he is right on target about technology and the new global literacies that we are trying to integrate into our teaching. He knew of Heidi Hayes and was really excited that I had been able to attend one of her workshops. My new school is extremely open minded about advancing education through technology. Would you ever consider offering some of your badge learning courses to a bunch of expat teachers in Turkey? I have gotten so much out of all the badge learning that I wish everyone had the same opportunity. Best, Janet","dateCreated":"1408288707","smartDate":"Aug 17, 2014","userCreated":{"username":"jdrake59","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/jdrake59","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"74716322","body":"Hi, Janet. Sorry for the delayed response. I have been swept up in the start of school and my daughter's recent Bat Mitzvah:) It sounds like you have a wonderful opportunity in Istanbul! So glad to hear your school is open minded about technology integration. I am intrigued by offering learning to folks in Turkey:) Tell me more about what you are thinking. I love it that you can connect with us here the the web. It is something we would have never thought would happen years back.
